Take. The. Solo. Trip. (Emphasis intended)

A trip by yourself? Girl, YES! Let me share...

My first solo trip!

I took my first solo trip in October of 2021, so not even a full year ago, and have been frequently doing them since! There's a special type of independence you feel when you're capable of doing something on your own... and the secret? You are MORE than capable!

So, what made me want to take a trip on my own?

  1. Because I wanted to.

  2. Because I know I could.

  3. Because, why not? Life's short, TRAVEL!

“The world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page.”

So, where did I go?

I chose to go to the beautiful and historic town of St. Augustine, FL! From where I currently reside, this was about a 4(ish) hour drive for me, and 110% worth it! P.S.: if you ever have a long drive ahead of you, I personally recommend: a LARGE iced coffee, plenty of snacks, and an amazing Spotify playlist that will allow you to have a 1-on-1 concert with yourself!

As fun as solo-travel is, safety should always be a top priority:

  1. Share your travel plans with trusted family or friends and stay connected - I recommend sharing your location.

  2. Choose your destination carefully, and always have backup plan if you feel unsafe.

  3. Do not share with anyone(aside from trusted family or friends) that you are traveling, especially alone.

  4. If you are over the age of 21 and are wanting to drink, do so even more responsibly.

  5. Feel free to socialize, but try not to let others know you are alone or where you are staying.

Have fun, but be safe about it!

Solo-trips are a blast, and I hope this inspired you to take one of your own! If you've traveled by yourself, I'd love to hear where you've been and any tips you have! This is an activity that fills my personal cup, and I hope it's one that could do the same for YOU!
